| Okay, I guess serious times requires the rare and mystifying (not to mention, horrifically butchered) serious comment by The Bernard.
It's somewhat saddening that while we were partying throughout the holidays, Tsunami victims on the other side of the world are left without shelter, without food, without clothing... in many cases, without a family, and without hope. Good thing is, there are many people out there who have already decided to help by donating to red cross, unicef, doctors without borders, and other organizations dedicated to disaster relief. I guess it's reassuring to know that people, in general, still care!
Anyway, for those who are still wishing to make a donation -- FYI: -- for every dollar donated to the Canadian Red Cross for Tsunami relief, the Canadian Government will match these donations (Until Jan.11) -- Best Buy & Futureshop is also collecting donations to the Red Cross at all their stores, and has indicated that they will match donations upto $100000. (Until Jan.30)
Essentially, donating $10 to the Red Cross from Best Buy & Futureshop stores will result in $30 ($10 from you, $10 from gov't, $10 from fs/bb) of funds raised for Tsunami Relief.
I believe Sears and Canadian Tire are using a similar strategy, but I'm not 100% sure
